Location Details
Ferniehirst is situated some two and a half miles south of the village of Stow in the Scottish Borders just off the A7 trunk road and is easy to find.
Heading south from Edinburgh it is easily reached by turning right immediately after the pedestrian crossing in the village. Stay on this road, cross the river,follow the road past the school and over the old railway bridge. At the "T" junction at the top, turn left, and just follow the road for approximately two miles. Ferniehirst is the first set of cottages to appear on your righthand side.
Coming from the south, on the A7 after leaving the town of Galashiels and some four and a half miles after the DERESTRICTION speed signs, turn left at signpost for Thornylee.(Signpost is on right hand side of road just after bends) Follow the road over the river and turn right at the junction and the cottages are about two hundred yards on the left.
